Absorption Minibars is a small private snack and beverage bar, often found in high-priced Western-style hotelrooms.  minibars are also part of the range we offer to the hotel and catering industry.

    How Absorption Cooling Works

    Diffusion-absorption type refrigerator is called absorption type refrigerator, which is an eco-friendly high-tech product.

    The absorption type refrigerator consists of diffusion-absorption refrigeration core, box and relative accessories. The key part is the refrigeration core which is composed of curved shaped steel tubes. Those tubes are assembled and sealed together to a completely closed system. Ammonia, helium and water are poured in proportion into that system. Among them, ammonia is used as refrigerant; water is as absorbent and helium as the diffusion agent. The core utilized heat resource as motivity to promote the circulation of refrigerant to achieve cooling purposes.

    The system uses the principle of thermal siphon to make the cooling system continuously work without any mechanical transmission.

    Absorption minibar uses three operating fluid as the component: Ammonia – water – hydrogen. It can be operated in the absence of any electronic or mechanical energy, completely quiet, environmentally friendly, the system is lifetime maintenance-free and have long service life, especially suitable for hotels, villas etc.

    Absorption refrigerator doesn’t have compressor and no Freon involved, it is green.

    It uses heat to drive the refrigerant circulating within a closed system, which has no mechanical operation and wear parts, refrigerant leak probability is very low. It is not comparable by a compressor refrigerator.

    The refrigeration core is mainly composed of generator, condenser and evaporator. Under the environment of low press in the evaporator, liquid ammonia evaporates into helium and mixes with gas helium together. In the absorber, gas ammonia is released from the mixture and is absorbed by water to be strong ammonia solution. Then, in the heater it is heated and the ammonia evaporates from the solution. Passing through the condenser, steam ammonia is cooled down to ammonia.After that, ammonia water reenters the evaporator. As a result of physical changes, endothermic-exothermic reaction is brought into being time and time again.

    Not any mechanical transmission is involved in the whole circulation system, so there is not any noise. Just under the condition of heat energy, ammonia will steam from ammonia water. So, many kinds of energies could be used in the circulation system, which is out of the ability of compressor.

    Generator: A concentrated Ammonia-Water solution is heated and evaporated and driven off as vapour.
    Rectifier: Vapour is condensed into water and then generated ammonia gas goes into the Condenser.
    Condenser: The pressurized Ammonia gas is then liquefied in a condenser.
    Evaporator: liquefied Ammonia is evaporated in the purified helium, absorb heat and make cooling.
    Absorber: In the absorber,gas ammonia is released from the mixture and is absorbed by water to be strong ammonia solutions.
    Storage tank: In the storage tank the lower layer is Ammonia-water, and the upper layer is mixed gas of Ammonia and Helium.
    Ammonia-water solution.
    Liquefied Ammonia goes back into the evaporator.
    Purified Helium returns to evaporator.
    Mixed gas goes back into the absorber.
    Ammonia-water solution flows back into the generators where the whole cycle starts again.

    The new “ErP” Energy Label on Our Absorption Minibar is coming

    From the 26th September 2015, the Energy-related Products (ErP directive) will come into effect (ErP / Energy-related-products).

    The Energy Related Products Directive is designed to improve the efficiency of products that use energy. The energy efficiency label, (sometimes known as an ErP label), ensures that end users are aware of the efficiency levels of their products and can make educated choices.

    Absorption Minibar as a fridge must be certificated and put an ERP label exported to European countries.

    This means that products need to be designed to meet a certain level of energy efficient.

    Energy labeling

    Energy labelling requires efficiency classification labels to be applied to every Absorption minibar. The classification can range from A+++ to G, and should already be familiar to consumers as they will already see the labels on white goods, such as refrigerators.

    ERP label on Absorption minbars

     

    The ErP Directive will make it easier for installers and consumers to choose the most efficient products that produce fewer carbon emissions and cost less to run.

    From 1st July 2015, all absorption minibars from FIRST INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT CO.,LIMITED will be fully compliant with the ErP directive, so you can be confident when you choose absorption minibars.
